After a tiring 30 hours of waiting, Marilyn was wheeled down the long hallways for her CT scan. Because of her intense pain and high doses of medications, hospital staff wanted to take no risks and accompanied her into the scan with two nurses and a doctor. The scan went smoothly with Marilyn remembering little but the “train ride” back to the room. Two more hours of waiting and then the first snippet of news arrived - delivered by a resident oncologist.
The scan revealed that Marilyn has developed a blood clot on her lung requiring immediate treatment. This however was a surprise diagnosis that has nothing to do with the pain that originally brought us here.
The complete written report from radiology was not yet available so neither the doctor or Marilyn and myself have any idea what is causing this extreme pain. There is a ray of hope however as the as Marilyn’s tumor does not seem to have changed according to the resident’s report.
Thanks for all your prayers. We know that nothing is impossible with God. Marilyn is holding up well and is in good spirits, considering what she is going through and where she has come. We will continue to wait for the complete report and the team of doctors as they determine what can be done.
