On a recent trip to Africa, Caulene Bussard, Marilyn’s sister and world missionary stumbled upon a struggling ministry to the many orphaned children in Nairobi Kenya called “The Children’s Garden”, founded by Moses Ndung’u (Daddy Moses). Without outside help many of these children would not survive. Caulene felt compelled to help and began a project with Slovack children and their families in Bratislavia to raise funds so these needy children could have their basic needs taken care of and at the same time receive an education. As more funds were raised, more children arrived, creating an even greater need. As of today there are far more needy children than funds to provide them even basic needs. Marilyn often wished she could do more to help and now she can – Through You! Please give generously to this worthy project

The Complete Report

August 9 2008

Today I arrived in Marilyn’s room just minutes before the resident doctor came in bearing the latest news. I am so thankful for not missing this important moment.

The CT scan has revealed some things that will require earnest prayer and immediate intervention. It seems the cancer is back and active in more than one place. First, a new 3 cm lesion has been discovered on the opposite side of her pelvis (probably not the cause of this latest influx of pain but nevertheless something that needs dealing with. Secondly it appears that the cancer has now spread into Marilyn’s bone, specifically her left femur and thigh area and pelvic bone. This is most likely the cause of her intense pain. As I write this more tests are being ordered – and X-ray as well as a bone scan will need to be done before proper treatment can be administered. At this moment the doctor feels it is treatable but does not know much more to say. We will begin the waiting game once again - waiting for the tests and wondering about the results.

Marilyn is feeling the stress and effects of the last few days and can hardly keep awake but still is in very good spirits and willing to put up the best fight she possibly can. Once again let me reiterate how much we both appreciate all your care and covet your prayers. Marilyn and I have committed this entire problem to the Lord and know that she is in the best hands possible. The staff here at Tom Baker Cancer Center have been wonderful as well.

I need to take some time at home now to do those chores that never seem to go away without my attention and Marilyn needs to sleep to build up strength for the next onset of testing to begin. When we know more I will update this again.

I give you my love and thank you for your prayers

Bryon
