On a recent trip to Africa, Caulene Bussard, Marilyn’s sister and world missionary stumbled upon a struggling ministry to the many orphaned children in Nairobi Kenya called “The Children’s Garden”, founded by Moses Ndung’u (Daddy Moses). Without outside help many of these children would not survive. Caulene felt compelled to help and began a project with Slovack children and their families in Bratislavia to raise funds so these needy children could have their basic needs taken care of and at the same time receive an education. As more funds were raised, more children arrived, creating an even greater need. As of today there are far more needy children than funds to provide them even basic needs. Marilyn often wished she could do more to help and now she can – Through You! Please give generously to this worthy project

Letter to the Family

April 1 2006
Dear family

I know many of you have been praying for Marilyn and I want to thank you all for this. We have truly felt the Lords presence with us over the last few weeks. Today we received the news that no one ever wants to hear. Marilyn was diagnosed with a fast growing bone tumor on her pelvis. This week, with her pain reaching intense levels I pressed our family physician to expedite a bone scan for Marilyn. Even though the results were upsetting we are thankful to finally know what we are dealing with. Many questions still need an answer and today Marilyn went through more testing that left her totally exhausted and worn out. I can only give you what little our doctor has told us. The tumor is 12 cm and as far as we know did not show up on an earlier xRay done on October 30 2005. The chance of it being malignant is 80 – 95%. As to the type of cancer – that is yet to be determined. Types of treatments available will vary depending on exactly what kind of tumor this is.

The last few days have been hard but Marilyn has accepted this as all part of God’s perfect plan knowing that the days ahead are uncertain. We have wept together and prayed for strength. Your prayers are coveted along with many others who will be hearing this news over the next few days. Just knowing that we have a Christian family with a strong faith to lean on will give us the strength to prepare for this battle. Thanks for all your support so far. I will keep you updated as time goes on.

In prayer
Bryon
