Thank you to Norman Brodie, whose wife is a long time internet friend of Marilyn, for a song/poem he wrote and offered in memory of Marilyn.
From Dust to Dust by Norman Brodie
It seems like only yesterday when you slipped away
The pain that wracked your body was silenced on that day
We are left to carry on, but we’re not alone
With Jesus standing by our side, even when we moan.
Chorus:
From dust to dust He said we are
Born to wither like fields of grass
But in His Image we are made,
And by His love our lives will last.
I know you are in a better place with a body new and strong
The Lord smiling, says “Well done! It’s time to come along.”
I cannot say how long we’ll grieve, how long this pain will last
But I am sure we’ll meet again when our time is past.
Oh, Lord, will You please hold my love, and keep her in Your arms
Give her the peace and comfort that erases all the harms
We so want to be with her, and in Your presence too
But You have left us here on earth, a mission yet to do.
Lord we need Your love to carry on, Your Word to keep us strong,
And we will praise You every day, although this world seems wrong
For through the gift of her you gave, for even just a while
We had a glimpse of what it will be like to see You smile.
