On a recent trip to Africa, Caulene Bussard, Marilyn’s sister and world missionary stumbled upon a struggling ministry to the many orphaned children in Nairobi Kenya called “The Children’s Garden”, founded by Moses Ndung’u (Daddy Moses). Without outside help many of these children would not survive. Caulene felt compelled to help and began a project with Slovack children and their families in Bratislavia to raise funds so these needy children could have their basic needs taken care of and at the same time receive an education. As more funds were raised, more children arrived, creating an even greater need. As of today there are far more needy children than funds to provide them even basic needs. Marilyn often wished she could do more to help and now she can – Through You! Please give generously to this worthy project

A really long weekend

The phone rang early this morning and Marilyn shaky voice was telling me of her intense pain and of how frightened she was. This was the beginning to one of the hardest days of my life. Most of the day was spent doing what I could to sooth Marilyn's pain simply sitting by her side and praying while softly rubbing her back.

Today fell on the heels of probably one of the more upsetting days I have lived through. After rushing though some needed yard work I sped off to the hospital, upset I wasn't getting there sooner. Thankfully, my guardian angel was keeping a close watch as I drove because I know I wasn't. At one point in the 30 minute cross city traverse I came inches from a nasty accident that would have been my fault. From that point on I made a conscious effort to not end up as another traffic statistic. I am afraid that my Hospital visit wasn't much more successful than my trip over because my frayed emotions took over as I vented my frustrations on the nurses and family.

When a doctor finally arrived late this afternoon we were informed of some quite grave concerns that have now shown up in regular blood testing. In spite of her recent blood transfusion, Marilyn's blood count is still on a downward plunge with no apparent reason. A close watch has been ordered and more tests may be on the way to determine whether or not there is any internal bleeding going on. Marilyn is obviously not fairing well through all of this and needs your prayers more than ever.

The day ended with more phone calls from Marilyn. Although now as well as the intense pain, Marilyn is suffering form extreme confusion. I am just praying that she won't carry through her latest threat of calling 911 to stop the nurses from force feeding her pills. I need some rest - it has been a hard day.

Dear Bryon,
I'm soooo sorry to hear that Marilyn's day AND yours was so upsetting yesterday! Please be assured that the nurses are used to handling these kinds of patients, as they often have confused patients due to the strong medications. They will likely have more nurses watching out for Marilyn and watching for the internal bleeding will be a priority! I will pray MORE today! I'm working this morning till about noon and then we are going into the city for awhile, but PLEASE call if you want to talk or if I can help at all!
Love and many prayers! God IS there and HE is the ultimate healer!
