On a recent trip to Africa, Caulene Bussard, Marilyn’s sister and world missionary stumbled upon a struggling ministry to the many orphaned children in Nairobi Kenya called “The Children’s Garden”, founded by Moses Ndung’u (Daddy Moses). Without outside help many of these children would not survive. Caulene felt compelled to help and began a project with Slovack children and their families in Bratislavia to raise funds so these needy children could have their basic needs taken care of and at the same time receive an education. As more funds were raised, more children arrived, creating an even greater need. As of today there are far more needy children than funds to provide them even basic needs. Marilyn often wished she could do more to help and now she can – Through You! Please give generously to this worthy project

Stress Diversion

April 11 2006

After not going to sleep until after 3 sleeping in until almost 11 was welcomed. I wondered why I hadn’t had any phone calls and then realized I had call forwarded to my cell and then turned off the cell. Oh well only 1 message was left and I needed the sleep.

I rushed around and went up to the hospital. where Marilyn was visiting away with Irene Biebrick and eating her lunch. After about an hour she was getting really tired and uncomfortable so the nurse gave Marilyn her pen meds and Marilyn drifted off to sleep for most of the afternoon. I set up a wireless keyboard and mouse hoping that it might make using the computer a bit easier for Marilyn. That remains to be seen. She did try it out after waking up but still had a lot of problems using it.

We waited all day but the only Doctor who showed up was a heart specialist to tell us that Marilyn’s heart was in good shape. Waiting for results like this can be stressful. Around Suppertime Janice Harper came by to visit and tell us that today was the first she had heard about Marilyn. She didn’t stay too long as Marilyn’s supper tray had arrived so she left giving Marilyn and I her best.

Soon after Janice left the head nurse came into the room and asked me to talk to her out in the hall. Immediately I thought something was wrong and I was nervous. Her reason turned out to be that that someone had given the nurses a Flames ticket that they couldn’t use and the nurses had all suggested that I should be the one to get to go, It was a great diversion I even ended up getting free parking and the Flames won 3 – 0. As I was driving home I got a call from David to say the he and Tracey had gone up to visit Mom for a couple of hours – this made me feel good that Marilyn didn’t have to be alone. Tonight I got home a bit earlier and feel pretty good. My sore throat is almost gone and I feel that I will be able to sleep tonight.

Tomorrow I am going to see our family doctor and get a letter so that I don’t have to go back to school just yet. That is something I am really not ready for as yet.
