On a recent trip to Africa, Caulene Bussard, Marilyn’s sister and world missionary stumbled upon a struggling ministry to the many orphaned children in Nairobi Kenya called “The Children’s Garden”, founded by Moses Ndung’u (Daddy Moses). Without outside help many of these children would not survive. Caulene felt compelled to help and began a project with Slovack children and their families in Bratislavia to raise funds so these needy children could have their basic needs taken care of and at the same time receive an education. As more funds were raised, more children arrived, creating an even greater need. As of today there are far more needy children than funds to provide them even basic needs. Marilyn often wished she could do more to help and now she can – Through You! Please give generously to this worthy project

Easter Weekend Doldrums

April 15 - 17

Quite a different Easter weekend. No special Sunday service, No special music, No special dinner. Only clear liquids, lots of pain and prayer for patience as we waited for another procedure. Marilyn is motivated to become mobile, if only to be able to use a real potty. With the help of the kind nurses she was able to stand up for a few seconds and take a step or two, but still not enough strength to do anything else. The colonoscopy has come and gone - no new news from this. Vikki from phsyio has been assigned to Marilyn and will begin helping her with her mobility on Tuesday. We still have not heard when the radiation therapy treatments will start or if Marilyn is moving to the Tom Baker center. I am very tired as Marilyn mostly sleeps during the day and then about 9 her pain flares up and I need to be there to help her settle down and get comfortable. The nurses do their best and are so kind but there just aren’t enough of them to go around. They are often busy with other patients when you need them the most. Today (April 18) is Marilyn's 57th birthday. I pray that it is not her last one. I know God can heal and his plan is perfect. It is so hard to see the one you love in so much pain, not be able to do anything for them, and still wait patiently for His plan to unravel.
